Product Application

The evolution of technology and gemology improves the tools of gemstone identification. Compare with the traditional detection methods, WEC ProTT-EZ Raman Analyzer can accurately and rapidly solve many diamond identification problems that cannot be solved in the past, and it has become the new favorite tool on the market. WEC ProTT-EZ Raman Analyzer has the following six characteristics:

 Identify Diamonds and Simulants
Diamond simulants on the current market bear many similarities to natural diamonds in regards to its appearance and chemical properties. However, as simulants are composed differently to that of natural diamonds, they can be distinguished by the high refraction index and a high dispersion coefficient. The synthetic moissanite that bears close properties as natural diamonds can also be accurately detected by WEC ProTT-EZ Raman Analyzer.

 Identify Enhanced Diamonds
In order to improve the consumers' acceptance and the value of diamonds, the diamond industry has been trying many different ways to enhance the diamonds, such as heat treatment, backing and irradiation. However, some of those enhancement treatment could harm human body; the irradiation is the most concerned treatment. WEC ProTT-EZ Raman Analyzer can detect the destruction of diamond structure and the florescence background to identify the irradiation diamonds.

Identify CVD & HPHT Laboratory Grown Diamonds
Currently, there are two methods of synthetic diamonds on the market: CVD and HPHT, and the advanced technology has made the possibility of the high quality synthetic diamonds that is more difficult to be distinguished from natural diamonds. The yellowish tint in natural diamonds (Ia, Ib, IIa) results from the minute amount of nitrogen, however, the nitrogen is not seen in CVD and HPHT diamonds. WEC ProTT-EZ Raman Analyzer uses this study to identify the CVD and HPHT diamonds with its high sensitive detection.

Identify All Kinds of Diamond with Color Changed Process
During the formation of diamonds, nitrogen atoms are introduced as impurity which absorbs blue and purple portion of light or the trace elements are introduced, causing the different colors in diamonds. Today, the diamond industry has also developed various precision technology to change diamond color. With the significantly improved sensitivity of WEC ProTT-EZ Raman Analyzer, it can differentiate micro substance and trace-analysis to observe a number of traditionally-undetectable signals.

 Portable and Convenient
In order to solve the diamond detection problems that could not be solved in the past, WEC ProTT-EZ Raman Analyzer features high sensitivity, high stability and accurately using advanced baseline normalization algorithm. The appearance is portable suitcase shape design, and the operation is easier than the bench top Raman spectrometer.

Easy to Operate with Non-destructive Detection and Available for various Sample Size
WEC ProTT-EZ Raman Analyzer uses high power monochromatic laser system and sensitive detection system that can immediately detect the mounted diamonds. Its CCD (Charged-Coupled Device) and the cooling system represent its high sensitivity, and the specimen size is not limited.

In addition to the purpose of professional diamond identification, WEC ProTT-EZ Raman Analyzer can also detect other natural and simulant of the precious gems.

Coral

Coral

The red coralicum rubrum is the most valuable coral that features its hardness and beauty. However, as the depletion of the Mediterranean's coral resources and the growing demand from Chinese market, there are more and more simulants of coral on the market.
Jadeite

Jadeite

The jades have been called "beautiful stones" by ancient Chinese, therefore, most of the simulants of jadeite are marble, quartz, glass and serpentine.
Ruby and Sapphires

Ruby and Sapphires

Ruby and sapphire gemstones feature the bright and vibrant colors, and ruby was treated as one of the most precious gems recorded in the Bible. As the enhancement treatment improved, the identification of ruby and sapphires have become a significant task for gemologists.
Pearl

Pearl

Pearl gem is one of the most popular gems at all time. However, most of the simulant of pearl are made from glass or plastic.
Emerald

Emerald

Emeralds are fascinating radiant green gemstones. Aquamarinl is the most common simulant of emerald.
Other Gems

Other Gems

WEC ProTT-EZ Raman Analyzer can also detect other gems such as chalcedony, opal, quartz, tourmaline, garnet, turquoise, amber, bloodstone and carnelian.
